BRUTAL - Paws of Fury
IBM PC

Release year: 1995
Developer: Gametek
Platform: IBM PC
Characters: 12
Backgrounds: 14
Graphics - Very nice, very nice. Detailed, colorful...
excellent.
A lot of stages, big characters (in fact, low resolution). The whole look of the game...
It's just different.
Sound - Mediocre. The music is a 1 second sample looped
forever, and there are just two or three "songs" in the whole soundtrack. They
are original, but they are just loops.
The sound FX are the same as the Genesis/Amiga versions.
Control - The keyboard might be difficult to master if
you are not used to fighting games on the PC. Not a big deal, you get used to it. The
control is accurate, and the special moves are done the same way you are used to.
By the way, you start the game knowing all the special moves (your character knows them,
YOU have to learn them).
Overall - Nice version. New characters, new backgrounds, but the lack of the belt system and the other goodies that the consoles have make this game less replayable.
Unique - The loopy soundtrack, the full cast of characters. The lack of features that made Brutal a unique game.
