More Than Meets The Eye Part 8
Deep inside the mountains
outside Pallet Town in the chambers of the crystal mines the mutants begin their
task of converting the rubys into energon cubes but first they dig out the
crystals from the walls of the passageways, load them onto minecars and
transport them to another chamber where they are morphed into glowing red
energon cubes of powerful energy.
NINJARA <Acts like
slavemaster>
Let's go, hurry up.
Get this car loadad...faster!
While she orders the
Cylons and Terminators to work faster along with the other mutants who are also
digging away feverously meanwhile Archer and MewTwo stand in awe inside a
chamber surrounded by rubys laid out at their feet and in a minecar before
them.
ARCHER
Ahh this place is
magnificent, unbelieveable.
MEWTWO
Enough here to power the
entire planet of Alpha Prime?
ARCHER
Exactly...I will build the
Ultimate Weapon to defeat the Commandos, to control the planet, to conquer the
universe! Heheheahahahahahaah! <He tosses rubys into the air as he
laughs>
While at the same time
the Elite stand ready just outside the mouth of the tunnel leading into the
heart of the mountainside.
LYLE ROURKE
There they are. <He
points to entrance>
HELGA SINCLAIR
Archer and the other
Syndicate must be inside the mines.
T.J. COMBO
Let's blast their
tail-rudders out of there.
NICK NITRO
We got just the trick to do
it with too. <He holds up pipe bomb> There's enough explosives here to
bury them forever.
LYLE ROURKE
Not so fast Nitro. We
know they're in there but we don't know where.
BROCK <Volunteers>
I'll go, my dad used to work
these mines. He even took me on a guided tour through them once so I know
my way around.
PAUL PHOENIX
And I have the best chance
of getting through undetected. I'll stick that bomb right under their
nose-gears. <Morphs into his guise of Gravedigger> Hop in
Brock!
Brock climbs into the
monster truck behind the wheel as Nitro hands him the bomb device explaining how
it works.
NICK NITRO
Once you set this timer
here, <Indicates LCD screen> you got 60 minutes. Remember once it's
set that's it, no time to defuse or deactivate. No turning
back.
BROCK <Takes bomb>
I
understand.
LYLE ROURKE
If there's any problems, get
out of there. We'll find another way.
BROCK <Grins or smirks>
There won't be any problems
sir. <Salutes> This one's for Alpha Prime and Earth. Let's go
Phoenix!
Gravedigger speeds
towards the mouth of the tunnel then brakes to a halt just before entering the
mine itself. Brock jumps down carrying the bomb but Paul takes it just to
be safe as he morphs to humanoid form. Together they proceed into the
chambers and begin trekking down the passageways searching for the
Empire.
PAUL PHOENIX
Whoa, <Can't believe his
eyes> I've never seen anything like this.
BROCK
It's the ruby crystals that
make them glow. They're almost alive.
PAUL PHOENIX
What's that? I hear
voices.
BROCK
Oops, uh-oh...company
approaching.
Taking cover behind
support beams they peer out into another shaft or tunnel just in time to spot
Foxy Roxy the vixen karate mistress and her boyfriend Kendo Coyote the karate
master pushing a minecar loaded with crystals and chatting like high-school kids
hanging out.
KENDO COYOTE
<Complaining>
Ya 'know something
Roxy? I can't wait to get back to Alpha Prime. Earth's so flat, so
boring.
FOXY ROXY <Teasing>
Hehehehe, yeah. I know
what you mean Kenny.
They pass by still
talking & laughing oblivious to the presences of Paul & Brock spying on
them. Then they dissapear from sight. Brock takes a quick sneak peek
down the tunnel from where the mutants came and seeing no one else coming
gestures in that direction, saying...
BROCK
This way!
And seconds later they
enter another chamber to discover their good luck! Archer and his croonies
finishing up their assignments of converting the rubys into energon cubes and
about to depart the premesis.
PAUL PHOENIX
We found
them.
BROCK
The Syndicate
Empire.
ARCHER
This is the last load.
Get ready to pull out.
BROCK
We have to do it now! <He
means activate the bomb>
PAUL PHOENIX
Yes sir, you're the
boss.
The street fighter
attaches the device onto a support timber and inputs his password & username
to start the countdown proceedure. Within seconds the bomb is counting
down the numbers to DEATH!
PAUL PHOENIX
It's done.
BROCK
Let's move
it!
But as they run down
the passageway towards safety they encounter danger or rather it finds
them. Rounding a turn in the tunnels they suddenly come face to face with
Foxy & Kendo who react in suprise & shock at seeing them appear from
nowhere in front of them.
FOXY ROXY
Huh?!
What-the.
KENDO COYOTE
Where did you come
from?!
BROCK
Hooooly
s***!
The pokemon trainer
attempts to attack first but is spun-kicked by the lady fox into the wall where
he slumps unconscious to the ground. Angered by this assault Paul
retaliates by launching himself at both mutants who defend themselves expertly
with punches, blocks & kicks. Meanwhile the bomb continues its
death-count down to Armageddon!!! At the same time the Elite are getting
worried & nervous about Brock & Phoenix not returning from their
mission.
HELGA SINCLAIR
They ought to be out of
there by now.
LYLE ROURKE
I don't like it, <Face
frowns> something's very wrong.
T.J. COMBO
I'll check it
out.
LYLE ROURKE <Stops him>
No, I'll go. I'll use
RollerBall, he's small enough to get inside without being
seen.
BUTCH MEATHOOK
We'll come with
you.
LYLE ROURKE
Stay there. If I'm not
back in 5 or 10 seconds, come get me.
Morphing to 18-Wheeler
mode he drives cautiously forwards. While back inside the mine shafts both
mutants stand over the fallen Paul Phoenix and gloat.
FOXY ROXY
Let's give Archer a little
gift.
KENDO COYOTE
Heh, maybe we should wrap
him up and stick a little bow on him, hahahahaha.
LYLE ROURKE
It's up to you
RollerBall. Find out what's happening in there and be
careful!
He activates the probe
droid which makes its way into the chambers to search for the missing allies
when suddenly a huge explosion erupts without warning! The bomb has
detonated creating a powerful surge shockwave of flame, smoke, dust, noxish
gases, etc. Support beams collapse from the blast and ceilings begin to
cave in with falling debris that crashes down upon the terrified mutants and
Archer who cannot escape in time! Simultanously the shockwave sweeps out
the mine entrance like a tornado and slams into the Big Rig full-force taking
Rourke completely by suprise who did not expect to be hit by an
explosion.
LYLE ROURKE <Starts to fall
off-balance>
RollerBall!
HELGA SINCLAIR
Commander!!! <Horror on
her face>
All the Commandos watch
in horror as the 18-Wheeler tumbles end over end down the side of the roadway
leading up to the mine entrance until coming to a crashing halt at the bottom on
its side, wheels spinning. They rush to their leader's aid hoping to save
him.
HELGA SINCLAIR
Rourke, you all
right?
LEI WULONG
Looks bad
Helga.
HELGA SINCLAIR
Doc, see if repairs are
needed.
JOSHUA SWEET
Let's get him up on his
wheels first.
The soldiers muscle the
Big Rig back onto its tires again. Then Dr. Sweet calls to his boss to see
if he is still alive.
JOSHUA SWEET
Commander, can you hear
me?
LYLE ROURKE
Aaaah,
Ooooooh...<Recovers slowly>
HELGA SINCLAIR
He's still
generating.
LYLE ROURKE <Worried>
RollerBall, wh-what happened
to him?
The probe droid returns
beeping-whistling-chirping merrily and retakes its place inside the
trailer.
HELGA SINCLAIR
Down but not out for the
10-count. RollerBall's one tough Commando.
JOSHUA SWEET
Lyle, can you still
morph?
LYLE ROURKE
I, I'll try. I don't
know if I can do it.
In pain he attempts to
remorph back to humanoid form but is having difficulty doing so. With his
fellow soldiers cheering him on like fans or cheerleaders the leader of the
Elite at last converges back to true form again.
HELGA SINCLAIR
Welcome back to land of
moving parts.
JAGO
That was some blast you
took.
LYLE ROURKE
The blast! <Alarmed he
stares helplessly at the mine> Paul Phoenix, Brock, they're still
inside.
ORCHID
How are we going to find
them under all that rock?
T.J. COMBO
Only one way, stand
back!
And so saying the pro
boxer begins smashing-bashing away at the collapsed entrance, breaking apart the
boulders as if they are toys.
LYLE ROURKE
Start digging! <Orders
his men & women to search & rescue mode>
It is Orchid the secret
agent who spots Brock and Phoenix trapped alive in an air-pocket beneath
collapsed support timbers.
ORCHID
I found them, over
here!
BROCK
Thank the almighty. I
thought we had it.
Carefully Orchid &
T.J. lift Brock to the surface then help Paul climb out. Ash, Tracy &
Misty rush to welcome their friend back and safe. Rourke debriefs
them.
LYLE ROURKE
Thanks to you two, the
Empire is finished.
PAUL PHOENIX
Ho-ho, we were almost
finished too.
BROCK
Nitro wasn't kidding when he
said it would blow in 60 minutes.
NICK NITRO
I'm always right on the
mark. I just enjoy starting things off with a Big Bang.
LYLE ROURKE
With the Syndicate buried
under all that rock we can resume our search for the resources we
need.
KIP KILLIGAN
And we can return to Alpha
Prime?
